Dates and Locations:

Hobart Thursday 11th August at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre, New Town

Sessions:
10.00am – 11.30am: During the first session, VALID will introduce their new training program; ‘Staying Safe’, for people with disability. This session is primarily aimed at people with disability and the people who support them. It includes video scenarios and information on types of abuse including financial abuse, neglect, emotional abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse. The session will promote the message that ‘Everyone has the right to live free from Abuse and Neglect’.

11.30am – 1.00pm: In the second session, NDS will launch their new e-learning and downloadable resources for ‘Understanding Abuse’, developed as part of the Victorian Zero Tolerance Projects. The resources are designed to promote a change in the way abuse and neglect are understood, and to offer practical tools to be used by individuals, teams and in supervision. This session is primarily aimed at support workers, team leaders and supervisors wishing to learn about the new resources and how they can be used in your organisation.
