DHHS is working on a new project called the Out of Home Care Foundations project. Out of home care consultation session: Date: Wednesday 6 December 2017 Time: 11:00am-1:30pm Venue: Child and Family Centre 4 Bethune Street, Chigwell RSVP: to cpsredesignteam@dhhs.tas.gov.au or 6166 3904 Limited childcare is available. Department of Health and Human Services The session • Provide feedback on the themes arising from our first consultation and show you the Outcomes Framework which is nearing completion; and • Gather your feedback on the Quality and Accountability Framework and future model for foster care. We recognise foster carers and kinship carers form a critical part of the care system, we would like your input and feedback on the project. Background The Out of Home Care Foundations project builds on work commenced a few years ago to build a better care system in Tasmania for children and young people. During July and August we met with carers around Tasmania as well as children and young people in care or who had been in care to hear what was important for children and young people. We would like to show you what has been done with your feedback. We also gathered information on how the out of home care system generally and foster care (and in many cases kinship care) could be improved. We would like to progress that work with you. Please note • Being part of a consultation (like a survey, interview or focus group) is always your choice. • To protect your privacy, we will not publish or discuss information that identifies you or your agency unless you tell us to. • You are contributing your ideas and experience as you feel comfortable to – you do not need to talk about anything you do not want to. • You can stop being part of the session at any time.
